PPWR and Bakery Packaging Compliance What European Buyers Should Consider

For bread, pastry and bakery packaging, buyers traditionally focus on size, material, printing and packaging performance.
For packaging intended for the European market, however, testing and technical documentation are also becoming increasingly important.
For plastic food packaging bags in particular, material information and relevant test reports can help buyers better understand the products they are sourcing.
BRISHPACK recently completed relevant testing for PP packaging bags.
The testing included:
Heavy Metals:
Lead, Cadmium, Chromium(VI) and Mercury — Pass
PFAS:
Any PFAS by targeted PFAS analysis — Pass
Sum of PFAS by targeted PFAS analysis — Pass
The test report confirmed that the tested items complied with Regulation (EU) 2025/40.
For bakery packaging buyers, this type of documentation can form part of the supplier's technical information.
Different bakery packaging products may use different materials and structures. Therefore, the required documentation should be determined based on the specific product, application and applicable requirements.
BRISHPACK manufactures customized bakery packaging bags, including paper and plastic packaging products, based on customers' size, material and printing requirements.
If you are sourcing customized packaging for a bakery, bakery brand or food business, contact BRISHPACK for product information and a quotation.
